Perfect Abby Boeh and I are starting an all-girls video game review podcast! Our buddy Colby offered to moderate a test run while we were drinkin and havin fun at a BBQ over labor day weekend. He recorded it on his phone, everybody has beer, it is mega casual, and it is smack in the middle of a spoiler heavy conversation about murder dads and THE LAST OF US, but you can listen to a little snippet of us talking here! You know, if you’re into that kind of thing.
Please look forward to a real podcast in the future containing REAL GIRLS talking about REAL VIDEO GAMES, and the things we think about them as active members of the gaming community at large.
"Battlefield Revisited", the story of the Battle of Imphal during World War II in India, appearing in this month’s issue of National Geographic Traveller India. I have to say, this was one of my favorite assignments to work on EVER. Such an interesting piece, about a part of WWII history that is not often discussed. Special thanks goes out to my AD Diviya Mehra and Editor-in-chief Niloufer Venkatraman, who were wonderful to me.
Yesterday I had the great fortune of getting to play with Adobe’s new Ink and Slide hardware for tablets, and I have to say it was AMAZING. I know some people might be hesitant at first to be like “Adobe is trying to do hardware? Get real buddy.” But really, it was only a matter of time before SOMEONE was going to make a really good stylus…and something that’s not just the usual faire. Adobe really went out of their way to make a system that is both intuitive but also inventive. I mean Ink & Slide essentially make you wish you have like a GIANT iPad. And while some might see that statement and be like “uhhh, it exists, get a Cintiq”, that’s not the point; Ink & Slide accomplish feats that Cintiq isn’t going to have in any of their products…well…until they try to do their own version of the Ink & Slide stuff. Then of course there’s the new software, Adobe Line and Adobe Sketch. I tell ya, you’ve just got to go play yourself, it’s so dope! I enthusiastically recommend it.
